There’s been too much hype over the Pacquaio-Hatton match that I finally told Arpee that we can stay at the Peninsula Hotel Manila and watch the fight there, because the live broadcast is free to watch for hotel guests. I also wanted to swim in their pool, go to the sauna and dip in the jacuzzi, which I always find to be relaxing.
I’m a lover of good hotel service and the Peninsula Manila is one of the standouts in terms of good service, facilities and amenities. We got one of their newly renovated rooms in the Ayala tower side. True enough, it was very nice, with a large 42-inch Samsung LCD TV and really nice bathroom stocked with really nice-smelling shampoo, conditioner, and other toiletries. Thing is, these amenities are standard in any hotel, but what makes it a more memorable stay are the little things that make the guests feel at home. Like the ice cubes in the ice box I found when we got back in the afternoon, or the extra bottles of mineral water they placed in the table when we exhausted our supply for the day. Little things like these I really find delightful.
Most hotels have safety deposit boxes in their rooms but how many do you know have umbrellas?
The Peninsula Manila’s Superior Room has fixtures that are designed with the convenience of the traveler in mind. I love the way their power outlets are located at the edge of the tables where you don’t have crouch on the floors to plug in your electrical things. The Internet outlet is also by the side of the table which makes it easy to plug in. Did I mention that the Peninsula Manila has free Internet in all rooms? Their broadband speed is so fast my downloads are zipping by!
Did I mention that the hotel provides a direct fax number for their guests? Business travelers can make use of a direct fax number FREE for local faxes within Manila.
The bathroom is one of their major highlights in the restoration efforts. They separated the shower area from the bathroom.
Really lovely! I suggest you try staying at the Peninsula Manila for one weekend. You will never regret it.
weekend rates are P12k per night ++. kasama na breakfast buffet and use of all facilities like the pool, the jacuzzi, gym and saunas, except the spa, which is a separate charge. sulit naman.

Wow, I’m sure you guys enjoyed your stay! Good thing Pacman knocked-out Hatton in just the second round, so you and Arpee got to spend more time in the pool
